ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:

In this experiment, students will take on the role of transplant physicians and perform immunological testing to screen potential donors for health eligibility. Potential donors will have their blood type tested and undergo a crossmatch to see if their immune system is compatible with the patient. Students will then analyze the results to determine the best possible donor for the transplant.

• Students will analyze simulated blood samples using real world techniques utilized in biomedical labs.
• Learn to count white blood cells using a hemocytometer.
• Perform blood compatibility tests to reveal information about donor blood samples.
• Determine who is the best candidate to donate a kidney to a patient in need.

This kit can be used in conjunction with EDVO-Kit #145 Tracking Health Through Urinalysis: A Case-Based Clinical Simulation.
