Shipping & Delivery Policy
Edvotek is located in Washington, DC and offers several shipping options for customers to choose from. Typical ground services once in transit allow for 1-3 business day delivery on the east coast, 3-5 business days in the Midwest, and 4-6 business days further west. Please allow additional time for shipments to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. Inclement weather in both DC or around the country may affect these estimates.
Unless otherwise specified, orders will ship using ground services and will leave our facility within three business days of order placement. Shipping charges are calculated based on a percentage of the order subtotal. A flat 10% shipping charge will be assessed for ground services, with a minimum charge of $10.95 and a maximum charge of $149.
Edvotek also offers 3-day, 2nd-day, and overnight shipping and expedited shipping charges will apply for these options. To help Edvotek honor your expedited shipping request, your order must be placed prior to 2PM EST on the day of the expected shipment. Please call ahead to ensure all needed items are in stock.
Although most Edvotek products ship ground, several items require expedited shipping on wet ice and cannot ship on Friday. Shipping on wet ice incurs a $50.00 fee and will be shipped for next day delivery. All wet ice kits are identified on our website with an asterisk and shipping notation.
Live Items: C. elegans, insect cells, and Drosophila require 2nd day shipping and expedited shipping charges will apply. When requesting a live item delivery, please contact us two weeks prior to your lab to ensure the lab has the appropriate amount of time to culture the live items for shipment. Live items cannot be returned.
Summer Deliveries: Unless a customer specifies otherwise, from mid-June to mid-August, Edvotek defaults to holding all perishable shipments. Instead, a perishable redemption coupon for each kit with perishables will be included with your shipment. This coupon can be found inside the kit box and is printed with a unique Shipment ID. This ID is very important, so please put this coupon in a safe place for future redemption of your perishables. To redeem your perishables, please call Customer Service at 1.800.338.6835 or email email@example.com. Allow two weeks for timely delivery of your perishables.
