961 - Comparing Growth Characteristics & PCR-based Analysis of Wild & Genetically Modified Plants
Description
Protocols and conditions will be provided to grow wild and genetically modified (GMO) soybean and corn seeds. Students will compare and contrast the physiology of growth for the wild and genetically engineered plants. Impact of growth conditions will be measured. Plant tissue will be harvested and DNA extracted. Using PCR, the genotype of the wild and the genetically engineered plants will be confirmed. Amplified DNA is separated and sized by agarose gel electrophoresis.
Shipped ambient. Some components require -20°C storage.
